Our first Noel

So for Nathan and I 2009 brought many changes and firsts...we got married, we bought a house, and we had our 1st Christmas!!
The Wednesday before Christmas Nathan and I had finished applying the polyurethane on the newly stained floors so on Thursday night I snuck over and hung our stockings, set up the tree, and placed the presents under it. Now mind you the ideal place for the tree would be in the living room, but for fear of the floors not being totally dry, I put the tree up in the nook in our bedroom were my desk will be. Stockings should be hung on festive little hangers but not wanting to poke a hole in our newly painted walls, I hung them where the old blinds used to be. And as an added bonus there was still some painting tape in the top corners I must have missed adding the final touches to our "renovated" Christmas. Christmas is Nathan's favorite holiday and even though we were busy I didn't want the day to simply come and go. Christmas morning I got up and made orange, cherry scones and then Nathan and I headed to our new little place to open our presents (we move in this week)
We received 3 great packages from Utah, antique silverware and candy tiers, watches, potions, and Christmas ornaments from my childhood. My mother knows me all too well hence the sign.

Nathan bought me .....a house! and a new laptop battery. I got Nathan the usual man gifts: new tie, silly putty, vosges bacon chocolate, a new grill and the best gift of all....proof from Social Security that I finally changed my name to Monica Kate Fish!!
We left the little house and spent the rest of Christmas on the couch recovering from both being wicked sick (hence why we both look drunk and hammered!!) watching Friends' DVDs because I had never seen them. (we are now on season 7 :) )
