So it is the end of January and back home in Utah, I would be thrilled the coldest month had ended but also wise that the snow would continue well into March and most likely April. Here in DC however, snow is like a nasty cold-sore herpes flare up, it is not something you can bet on but it's always possible and it always comes without warning and is way worse than you had expected! And it's always a pain. Today the snow was predicted to be "light flurries" with no more than 3 inches. Ya right, try 3 inches in the first hour. At any rate it was a great day for white because we were invited to join our friends Chris and Leigh on a self-guided tour of the White House. The tour only lasted a few minutes because only the East wing is open for tours. We saw the ballroom, red room, green room, blue room, and a few others that didn't have color names so I don't remember those. I particularly liked the chandeliers and George Bush' Lenox China. If the White House ever gets renovated, I will dumpster dive for those babies :) Short and cold as it was, we are thrilled we got to see inside a symbol of our living history, and more thrilled we did it with our friends (the Rogers- Caitlin is the only one who got a souvenir barf bag!-, Walkers, Pitts, and Wirthlins).
