I, like most American's, have a healthy appetite for the natural geological beauty that America provides. I at one time or another have been known to crave the outdoors with its hiking and camping and fresh air, so when Nate called me in Utah (after the firework disaster) and asked if I wanted to go see the Palmyra Pageant the weekend I got back, I was hesitant until he threw in, "we are also going to head to Niagara Falls" and then I was in 100%. I got of work early Friday so we could miss traffic, I packed car treats, I packed myself and my Nathan, I had the camera charged and I was set, and then unsettled seconds before we left. And then 7 hours later I had been "unsettled" 9 times all over the side of Nathan's car unable to keep in any quantity of fluid down. It was comical at best. Pants were agitating so had those suckers lowriding, seatbelt was too tight so wasn't wearing that, sitting up squished my stomach so I laid the seat back, wrecked my shirt sleeve because I guess you shouldn't barf into the wind so I had pillowcase strategically draped in its place, but luckily our friend Chris has switched to Aaaron's car before most of this occurred. I failed to mention Leigh and Chris and Aaron and Melissa were along for the chaos luckily in their own car. Poor Nate, 7 hours with the worst co-pilot ever, and after a stress filled week at work for him, he had himself a royal headache the entire ride up. My favorite moment of that day was getting into the hotel, showering, throwing away my shirt, telling Nate to shower because it might help his head, hearing my name faintly called from the bathroom and going in to find my husband sitting in the bathtub as the shower rained down and having him say, "can you move the shower head to the left a little, I can't move". The trip got better. The Walkers and Millers saw a few of the church sites on Saturday afternoon while Nate and I saw the backs of our eyelids. The 6 of us met up for a charming dinner and stroll along the canal before the pageant.
We (Nate and Chris) fed the ducks
and got shoe envy from a bridal party (shoe being singular because we only liked one, nice job girl in the yellow), and went into pita/hummus coma which I would recommend if you are in the area (Aladin Natural Eatery in Pittsford) The pageant was amazing,

complete with fire and waterfalls,
Nephites and a war, and it will become an annual happening for us as long as we are no more than 7 hours away ( not sure if the Miller's and Walker's will ever join us again). Up and at em the next morning and off to Niagara and the falls were breathtaking.
The US side is ghetto and dirty, the Canadian side is charming times 10 with its Queen Victoria's manicured gardens, beautiful architecture, and much better view of the falls. Sadly Leigh was the unlucky winner of stomach flu roulette so her trip was down hill from there, we felt guilty for making her sick (that and Nate was now pro at turning on his flashers and pulling over in a split second) so she and Chris road home with us instead of the Millers. I am happy to report Monday came and we were all at work we are all fine today.
