Alaska

So as many of you know Nathan's father is having to deal with a rather large speed bump...brain cancer. For his 50 wedding anniversary he and his wife wanted to go to Alaska but we figured why wait another 5 years, go now! And bring the kids! So Nate and I planned the cruise and all 5 siblings and their spouses went on vacation sans kids for the 1st time ever! Here are some of the highlights:
  • seeing whales (okay not the whole thing but I saw tails and spouts)
  • seeing lots of dolphins
  • seeing glaciers for the first time
  • flying over Glacier Bay
  • dressing up for dinners I didn't have to cook or clean up
  • ordering 5 appetizers and 2 entrees without feeling even a little guilty
  • Tracy's Crab Shack (thanks Leigh and Chris)
  • trying on $300k+ jewels every day (Alaskan ports are really tourist friendly - people who cruise Alaska are usually old and old people have that kind of money to spend on jewels, thanks old people for facilitating the abundance of ICE that lasts forever:)
  • having 7 uninterrupted days without ipods/TV/radio/email/FB/traffic/cell phones with my Nathan.
